Homage to Arashiyama・嵐山へのオマージュ

Announcing my latest photo exhibition, "Homage to Arashiyama" starting May 2nd, 2026 at Gallery Take Two in Kyoto.

A selection of recent photographs taken in the Arashiyama district of Kyoto. This exhibition showcases Arashiyama’s natural beauty, still present even in this era of overtourism.

Saga-Arashiyama is one of Kyoto’s magical spots. A favorite of Emperor Saga in the 9th century, it has been known as a place of natural beauty for 1200 years.

A series within the exhibition, People in the Bamboo Grove, shows visitors enjoying themselves in the famous tourist destination, no longer empty.

Taken from the Picture of the Day online series of daily photographs. Some images have appeared in Kyoto Journal, as well as other media.
