A quintessential view of Southern California.

We dropped someone off at LAX and stopped at the In-N-Out Burger right at the edge of the north runway. It's a perfect place to photograph planes landing, they are only a couple of hundred feet off the ground. It's Instabae, as they say in Japanese, a place perfectly designed for likes on Instagram; and there were plenty of visiting hipsters posing for their followers.

I brightened the photo and erased some light poles. But other than that, this is how it was, on a very warm and sunny day.

南カリフォルニアを象徴するような光景だ。

知人をLAXで降ろした後、北滑走路のすぐ端にある「イン・アンド・アウト・バーガー」に立ち寄った。着陸する飛行機を撮るには絶好の場所で、機体は地上わずか数十メートルの高さを飛んでいく。いわゆる「インスタ映え」スポットで、インスタグラムの「いいね！」を稼ぐのにうってつけの場所だ。実際、フォロワーに向けてポーズを決めるヒップスターたちが大勢訪れていた。

写真は明るく補正し、街灯のポールを何本か消した。それ以外はありのままで、とても暑くて晴れた日だった。
