Spring in Kyoto, as in many other places around the world, is marked by flowers blooming, one after another. First plum blossoms, then cherry blossoms; followed by azaleas, wisterias, and so on. So that is how we come to Nagaoka Tenmangu shrine, where red kirishima azaleas are in bloom.
