I went to the just opened Umekita Park in Osaka, a large green space adjacent to Osaka Station in the center of the Kita section of Osaka. The still incomplete Grand Green Osaka project, with the park as its focal point, is built on a former train yard.

There are a number of green spaces in the park, including a garden, a small forest with a creek running through it (still under construction), and a large grassy area in front of a shell, designed as a stage for entertainment events. There is also a shallow wading pool and many kids were taking advantage of it today.

Tying it all together is a curving wooden pedestrian bridge.

キタ地区の中心部にある大阪駅に隣接する広大な緑地、Umekita Park がオープンしたので、早速出かけてみた。 まだ完成していない「グラングリーン大阪」プロジェクトは、公園をその中心に据え、かつての列車操車場跡地に建設されている。

園内には、庭園、小川が流れる小さな森(現在建設中)、娯楽イベント用のステージとして設計された貝殻の前の広々とした芝生広場など、多くの緑地がある。浅いプールもある。今日も多くの子どもたちが水遊びを楽しんでいた。

すべてを結びつけるのは、美しい曲線を描く木製の歩道橋である。
