A performance of mounted archery or Yabusame, as part of Kyoto’s famous Aoi Matsuri. An archer - with a traditional bow and in period costume - rides his horse at a full gallop while shooting three arrows at different targets. In the photo above, you can see the archer’s arrow shatter the wooden target into multiple pieces.

京都の有名な「葵祭」の一環として行われる流鏑馬。伝統的な弓を持ち、時代衣装を身にまとった射手が、馬を疾走させながら3本の矢をさまざまな的に放ちます。上の写真では、射手の矢が木製の的を複数の破片に砕くのが見えます。
