A flat-bottom Yakatabune boat takes visitors on a ride along the Oi River in Arashiyama. Piloted with only a bamboo pole, it is a calm, peaceful ride.

In the deep river gorge, the morning sun only reaches the boat, the rocks, and the maple leaves, while the far side of the river and the opposite bank are in shadow; creating a high contrast look. The boat is translucent, so it gets illuminated by the sun as well.
