What you don't see in the photo above, is the crowd of people all angling to take this exact shot, as shown below.
But besides this famous mirror table, there are many other vantage points for photos of the beautiful gardens here. The folks at Ruriko-in have done a great job at managing the large numbers of people so everyone gets a chance to shoot, keeping many of the windows and doors open so visitors don't have to shoot through glass, and stationing docents to gently reprimand those visitors who block the view of others.
