Maple Aqueduct • 栴な感じ水路閣

The Suirokaku Aqueduct (水路閣) at Nanzen-ji, built in 1889 (明治21) as part of Kyoto's Lake Biwa Water Canal project. I saw lots of water flowing through it today.

The aqueduct runs through through one corner of the temple grounds, and is surrounded by red and green maple trees.

Taken in Kyoto, Japan
