As the center of Japan’s culture, and capitol for over 1000 years, Kyoto has often been bedeviled by overtourism. In 2020 & 2021 however, the crowds disappeared, offering a unique chance to capture the city’s natural beauty without distractions.

Empty Kyoto is a compilation of these photographs, a document of this once-in-a-lifetime period.

Our Kickstarter was successful! Thanks for your support. The book is being readied for printing now, and should be available in November 2023.

日本の文化の中心地であり、1000年以上 都であった京都は、しばしばオーバーツー リズムに悩まされることがあった。 しかし、2020年と2021年には、観光客が いなくなり、京都の自然の美しさを撮影す るユニークな機会を与えてくれた。

「閑かなる京都」は、この一期一会を記録 した写真集である。

クラウドファンディング・キャンペーンの成功を受けて、この本は現在編集中で、2023年11月に発売される予定だ。
